Instructions
- With the door closed carefully measure the gap at the base of the door with an accurate measuring device. Please ensure you measure both the ends and the middle of the door We recommend making a note of the measurements.
- With the door open please repeat step one, again, record the results. This is to ensure the consistency of the measurements with the door open and closed avoiding issues with future operation.
- Measure the door width with an accurate measuring device and record the dimensions.
- Using the appropriate Bottom Door Seal (BDS30 or BDS60) from the packaging and measure the required length. Carefully cut the BDS30/60 to the required length with a sharp blade.
- Calculate the required amount of FrameFit required (LM/44 or LM/54 profiles only) to restore the gap to within 8mm tolerance. Please see the table below for reference.
- Place the FrameFit LM profiles into the Bottom Door Seal and cut to the require length ensuring a flush finish at both ends.
- Remove the backing tape from the FrameFit and adhere to the Bottom Door Channel. Repeat for all required FrameFit LM profiles lengths.
- In preparation for attaching to the bottom edge of the fire door. Pre-drill 3No holes through the BDS and FrameFit LM profiles. 1No 25mm from each end and 1No in the middle.
- Remove the door from it’s frame and safely secure it, so that you have full access to the bottom edge. Using M5 wood screws (approx15-20mm larger than the gap you wish to fill) screw the Bottom Door Seal onto the bottom door edge, ensuring that the Bottom Door Seal is flush to the door at both ends.
- Rehang the door, checking the door opens and closes without obstruction and the gap has been reduced to no more than the maximum 8mm.
