Fire Stopping and Fire Compartmentation

Fire stopping is a method of compartmentalisation within a building that forms an effective barrier against the spread of flame and smoke, whilst still allowing for the penetration of services through fire rated walls and floors. We provide a range of fully approved and tested fire stopping products to prevent the spread of fire, smoke and hot gases.

The aim of fire stopping:
- Providing more time to the building occupants for evacuation
- Limiting building damage and ultimately continuity of operations
- Allowing more time for the fire service response and emergency evacuation

Note: Fire stopping products should be installed by trained operatives and properly maintained. We would recommend that work to install such products is carried out by a third party accredited installer.
